Light up Snowman........

Hi Peeps,

I know I can hear you saying it, she leaves it two years and seven months and then blogs two days in a row?!?!

I went out with my lovely sister today and we went to Tenterden to do some Christmas shopping. There were lots of lovely christmassy things in the shops and it got me thinking of some of the light up makes that I made last year that I will have to dust off when I get them down from the loft when I put my decs up this year.

Below is an Anna Marie Designs mdf Snowman that she sold in bare mdf last year and I just loved him when I saw him and had to make one. I love Anna's Designs and love putting my own twist on her mdf designs.

I used lots of different products including Structure Paste, Starlight Paints, Acrylic Paints and Blanc Rusty Patina.

I added other mdf elements to the snowman including a fence, trees, robin and December 24th. These were also mdf pieces from Anna Marie Designs.

I added some little snowballs to the base and holly and berries to finish it off.......

Once I had made him and nick named him 'Frosty' (original yes I know!) I decided to add some lights around the outside of him to light up the lounge when I cosy up on the couch at Christmas.......

I was really pleased how he turned out and Frosty will be a keen favourite in my lounge for many years.

Well peeps, you never know I just may be back tomorrow with another light up make........
I have a few more to share!

Have a lovely evening and sleep well......

Hugs Lisa B xxx

It's been a long time........

Good evening all,

Well I can't believe that it has been 2 years and seven months since I have dedicated anytime to this blog.
I had all good intentions when I created this blog but you know how it goes, but I have decided that now is the time to share with you some of my thoughts, processes and tutorials and techniques on what has taken up my time in the last few years.

If you are a real crafter at heart you know that it feels like you have lost an arm if you don't get to indulge into your passion of crafting at least a couple of times a week. But sometimes life gets in the way and for the past few years although I have been busy crafting for work and although I have loved every minute it has been full on and not much breathing space in between but I have decided this year to indulge a little more into what I love to do and take a back step and slow things down a little so that I can spend time on this blog and share things with you all.

My own Craft Workshops structure is changing next year and we will be releasing the 2018 dates soon over on my other blog:

https://lisabdesignsinspiration.blogspot.co.uk/

Next year we are getting much more into mixed media which is my passion, I love playing and discovering new things and love to share with others.

So today as we are looming up towards my workshop on Sunday with the light up scene box, details here: Click for details and booking information

I thought that I would show you a make that I made for my own home last year for Christmas.
I bought the lantern from a local florist wholesalers and immediately when I saw it, I thought that I wanted to create a scene inside it, it was such a lovely shape lantern.

Now I had a look at my stash and found that I had some Tando Houses ( available on sunday at my Workshop at Grove Green Village Hall). Various dies and die cut grey board Christmas shapes, so this got the old brain matter working and I started to devise a plan.......

I started by by gluing the houses together and painting them with Imagination Crafts Blanc Rusty Patina ( available on my website) and then added some clear glamour dust on top to add a sparkle.

Then I painted the roofs and windows and doors in Deco Art Baby Blue Paint ( available on my website) and assembled the pieces together.

Now I knew that I wanted to light up the inside of the feature, so I had to create a base and flap front that I could access the switch on the lights from. So I cut a piece of card to fit in the base and used the lantern as a template to draw around to create the semi circle that I attached as a flap.

Now it is at this point that I got very carried away and forgot to take any photos as I continued with the project but I used dies from my stash to create trees and dear and built up a raised area from card to support a third house in the background.

I aged down the lantern itself with a little dry brushing with white acrylic paint and added a Tando Creative bauble flourish and some flower gems to the front of the lantern.

I was really pleased with the outcome and tucked up on a wintery night with a cup of cocoa I was pretty pleased with the night time effect!

If this has inspired you to have a go at creating a little scene in to something then go for it!

I have to tell you it is so much fun and very satisfying.

Well that it all from me today but I will be back soon with more makes from the last few years and new things too.

I wish you all a great week.......

Clock Canvas with my Lisa B Poppy Stamp with Imagination Crafts.......

Good evening all,

I am so sorry that I have just not had the time to blog on here lately but February and March are always really very busy months with lots of shows, makes and demos to prep for.......

Anyway I finally managed to finish and was happy with the clock canvas that I made last month at my great friend Karen Clares workshop.
Karen is always very laid back and lets us pretty much use and interpret our own designs on out makes and I always love attending her classes, that are such a great busman's holiday for me and so relaxing to go to.

They are also only about 25mins away from me here in Maidstone and are held in Swanley......

I used my brand new Poppy Stamp hand drawn and designed by myself with Imagination Crafts. Here is a closer look at the details......

It was made with Brushos, Imagination Stencil Paint, 3d Paste, Diamond Sparkle Medium and various stamps......

A closer look at the poppy......

I love this new word stamp from Stampendous.......

I will be back tomorrow with another make that I made today at Karens workshop a Candy Box Triple Frame........

Until then,
Big hugs

Create and Craft Samples from the last Imagination Crafts Show part two.....

Good morning all,

Two days in a row hurrah!!

So today I am showing you the other samples that I made and demonstrated on the last Imagination Crafts Create and Craft Show.

So this time, here are some photos of the Starburst Garden Stamp  and the other background stencils  samples from the last show.....

Again I really wanted to keep the samples CAS to show how effective the products can be.....

I used the Stencil paints again that we had on the show as the colouring medium and as I said yesterday, I love it and will be stocking it soon.....

This colour I used on this sample was Lemon and Meadow Green, I love the way the colours blend and you get such bright colours from the pots ( this was a demo on the last program, if you missed it)......

For this next sample I used Bluebell and Lemon, for the background I used the Trellis with the Bluebell Stencil Paint and Diamond White Sparkle Medium. I also added some Lemon Sparkle Medium ( new colour ) to the centre of the flowers......

I really enjoy working with all kinds of altered art and different wood and canvas etc. and found this balsa wood box in my stash so decided to decorate it using the Starburst Garden Stamp and Bluebell and Chalk Stencil Paints....

I stamped the flowers on to velum and embossed them with white embossing powder and then added Diamond White Sparkle Medium on top.......

The inside.....

A little closer look......

Well that has come to the end of my samples from the last show but I am working on lots more samples at the moment for all sorts of things, so I will be back soon to share them with you......

Until then big hugs.....

Create and Craft Samples from the last Imagination Crafts Show part one.....

Good morning all,

Apologies for being such a bad blogger but as I explained this blog is all about what I love to create in my spare time!!!

Unfortunately that has been non existent over the last month or so!!!

So I thought that I would show you some of the samples that I made and demonstrated on the last Imagination Crafts Create and Craft Show. I have been so busy trying to sort out new classes for 2015, creating samples and demos for C&C for Imagination Crafts, doing the work for, demonstrating and attending the NEC Trade Show and then there's the designing of products for Imagination Crafts which is time consuming but very exciting. There are nine new stamps being launched that I have designed and drawn by hand and there are also a range of stencils in the making and as soon as I can I will let you know when and where they will be available.......

So back to the samples, here are some photos of the Butterfly Garden Stamp Set and Honeycomb Background Stencil samples from the last show.....

I really wanted to keep the samples CAS to show how effective the products can be.....

I used the Stencil paints that we had on the show as the colouring medium and I have to say that I love it and will be stocking it soon.....

This colour is Mallow and I have stippled a little Diamond Sparkle Medium on the butterfly ( this was a demo on the last program, if you missed it)......

This time I used Mallow with Bluebell and it creates the most amazing lilac colour.
Twin butterflies on this one.....

Now this one is Mallow again but mixed with Chocolate it creates the most beautiful peachy colour, they really are amazing paints to work with.......

And finally I wanted to show how you can use the stencil paints on wood and canvas too with no prep, just straight on the surface.....

I love these mini canvases, they are so cute. This was Mallow again mixed with Bluebell.....

I hope you like what you see and I will be back tomorrow with some more samples from the show but this time using the Starburst Garden Stamp and Stencil Paints......

Until then big hugs.....
